Marc devotes most of his focus on driver coaching and testing duties for Team MER but has played numerous roles as a test pilot/professional driver for several teams, manufacturers and publications.
Take a look at some of the other cars Marc has had the opportunity to drive & race.

THE CARS

Sirius Satellite Mazda MX-5 Cup Series (www.mx-5cup.com)

Since 2007, Marc has been driver coach & engineer for championship winning MX-5 Cup team, Team MER. With 4 drivers in the top-5 in points in 2006 & 2007 taking a 1-2 finish en-route to their third consecutive team championship, Miller worked with severall drivers at the track sorting data and maximizing their potential. Marc was also on hand to test the cars through pre-season development.

CAR SPECS: The cars are built from 2006 and current Mazda MX-5's to spec standards. With nearly 180hp, the class showed great racing and a growing class. The MX-5 is light, agile and near on pace with the GrandAm Cup ST class cars with much higher hp numbers.

Mustang Challenge Series

2008 will the introduction of the MUSTANG CHALLENGE SERIES, a racing series dedicated to spec-prepared Mustang race cars. I have been involved in early testing for these machines and the cars will be very good and definitely have plenty of adjustments to suit any driving style.

The FR 500S is the cornerstone of a new national spec championship in 2008. The reliable and competitive production-based package provides the perfect platform for competitors seeking an affordable wat to go racing with a V8-powered, rear-wheel-drive car. The FR 500S has been co-developed by Ford Racing Technology and Miller Motorsports Park over a year of competition and race-school use at the demanding Utah facility. The new championship series will visit major racing venues during the season, wth a sensible rulebook, competitive point structure and generous purses. the 325hp FR 500S is ready to take the racetracks of North America by storm and produce the most exciting and competitive one-make racing series ever.

CASCAR
(Canadian Association of Stock Car Auto Racing) is Canada's largest and most recognized racing series. The series races at both oval and road courses throughout Canada with some big venues at both the Toronto and Vancouver Molson Indy street races.

Miller's Carhartt Racing #8 CASCAR Dodge Charger SuperSeries entry utilized a full tube-frame McColl stock car chassis with a 500+hp MOPAR V8 racing engine built by DJK Racing. CASCAR competes on oval tracks of 1/2-mile or less in length throughout Canada as well as some road-course events. Special events include the Toronto MOLSON Indy, Edmonton Grand Prix, GP of Trois Rivieres and a CASCAR event at the famed Mosport International Raceway. Miller competed on limited schedules from 2003 to 2006 and was initially signed with the team due to his abilities on road-course events (where he compiled several Top Rookie awards and top TEN finishes in his starts for the team).

CASCAR events are televised on both SportsNet in Canada as well as globally on SPEED TV.

Formula Ford Zetec

These are examples of FF Zetec cars, built by Van Diemen International. Using a 2.0L Ford Zetec engine producing about 160hp, these cars are a great improvement over the Formula Continental's Pinto engine in reliability and longevity.

Spec Racer Ford

Spec Racer Ford is one of the SCCA's most popular and car plentiful classes. The true "sports racer" is built strong and tough with spec components. Driver skill is brought to the forefront as limitations to set-up changes make racing very close. The chassis is mated to a Ford 2.0L engine with a 5-speed gearbox.

Formula SCCA

The Formula SCCA car is designed and built by Van Diemen Int'l. The company, a part of Don Panoz's ELAN Group has been managed for nearly 30 years by Ralph Firman. These cars were introduced last year with a 2.3L Ford/Mazda Duratec engine and really perform well. They have spec dampers and springs to limit adjustability as an entry level formula class. I spend most of my time in these cars as a test driver.

Spec Miata

With thousands of Spec Miatas throughout the country, the Spec Miata class has become the largest class for many sanctioning bodies, including NASA and SCCA. The horsepower numbers are small, with rear wheel HP at just over 115hp, but the spec format and ability to draft makes for some very close and competitive racing. It is not uncommon to see 10+ cars in a lead pack. The cars are light and agile and with over 10-years of eligibility, cars are plentiful.

He was kind enough to let Marc do several stints in the car at Gingerman Raceway and in 2007, Marc might compete more regularly in this class for added seat time.

Formula Ford 1600

The VanDiemen Formula Ford 1600 uses a 110hp Ford "Kent" engine. This classification is said to be the best training ground for drivers as it has no aero downforce. Miller was the 1999 Formula Ford Mosport Celebration Champion driving for Britain West Motorsport in a '98 VanDiemen.

Canadian Pro Formula 1200

The Canadian Pro Formula 1200 Series was one of the most competitive formula car series in canada in 1998. With an average of over 25 entries per event. The cars are powered by a 1200cc VW engine mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The class is very economical and places a complete emphasis on the driver's ability to be smooth and carry speed as the small amount of HP produced makes the driver pay for any mistakes.

250 Superkart

The 250 SuperKart is as fast as one can get in karting. Racing on circuits such as Daytona, Mid-Ohio, Road Atlanta and Road America, these machines can reach speeds in excess of 150mph. This particular superkart is an English-built Anderson chassis with a Yamaha TZ250 V-twin engine with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine produces roughly 95hp with a total combined weight of kart and driver of 480 pounds. No other vehicle I have driven matches this power-to-weight ratio. It has been compared to driving a Champ Car. The wings are useful and help to create some downforce. Aero adjustments can be made on front bodywork rake as well. Modifications can include ignition kill for "no lift shift" and pneumatic push-button shifting. We use full data acquisition and computer mapping as well.

125cc ShifterKart

The 125cc Shifterkart is arguably one of the best bangs for the buck in motorsports. Using a 125cc motoX engine producing up to 45hp and a 6-speed gearbox, these karts are capable of 4.0 second 0-60 times and a top speed of 120mph. Marc has won several shifter races and has been ranked among the top-25 in North America (and top 7 in Eastern US) in 2000 before making the move to cars.

Production Cars

The Ford GT is a 550hp supercar based on the GT40 of the 1960's. This was one of the fastest production based cars I have had the pleasure of driving and is priced in the area of $150,000. Once you drive it, you will quickly understand why. More info can be found HERE or read my experience with the car on the NEWS page.
